PUBLIC PRESS RELEASE:
14.02.2023

Valvoline D1NZ R2 postponed one day

This weekend’s Valvoline D1NZ National Drifting Championship at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium has been postponed one day, moving the event to Saturday and Sunday, 18-19 February (Both Pro & Pro-Sport) will run over the two days.

Following the devastation of Cyclone Gabriel and its impact across so many regions, the decision is in line with advice from authorities based on today’s declaration of a national state of emergency. “The safety and well-being of all nationwide participants are our top priority, and with widespread travel disruptions, we believe this is the best course of action to allow our fans, drivers and stakeholders to travel safely over Friday,” said series promoter Brendon White.

“We will continue to monitor the storm and listen to the advice of local authorities, and work closely with our stakeholders to ensure the rescheduled event runs smoothly. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and we will keep everyone updated on any further changes. We thank you for your understanding and please stay safe during the storm."

The event is the second for the 2023 season, with the planned television coverage already rescheduled onto Sky Sports this Sunday.

Tickets have been updated - a previously held Friday Ticket is now valid for Saturday, a previously held Saturday ticket is now valid for Sunday - this event now becomes a day event for the main day Sunday.

Online tickets sales are only available the day prior to the event. You may notice that tickets for the same day will not be available online, and remaining capacity will only be available for sale at the gate. Once we are at capacity we will update socials as well but won't be able to accept more people on site.
