Whether you’re in need of fast speeds, opportunities to pass your opponents, or slow bends for driver training, Manfeild has circuit choices to meet your needs. Boasting the longest motor racing course with unimpeded views in the Southern Hemisphere, your participants and spectators will be treated to some great action: 1.5km, 3km or combine the two to create your 4.5km full circuit for the best of both worlds – For The Super Sprint Motorsport NZ Championship we will be using the 3km circuit.
The renaming of the 3km international race circuit to Circuit Chris Amon, after the kiwi racing legend Chris Amon took place in November 2016. The design of this superfast layout was overseen by famous Ferrari-associated racer Chris Amon, who grew up locally. The banked corners are a unique feature for a NZ motor-racing circuit and a particular reflection of Amon’s input; he had experienced – and enjoyed – similar gradients on some of Europe’s most historic tracks.
The seven cambered corners that make up the ‘Circuit’ are a brilliant testing ground for any driver. With five realistic passing opportunities, along with Manfeild being the longest motor racing course with uninterrupted views in the Southern Hemisphere; spectators are treated to some great action.
