attracts drivers from around the globe. The Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania
Championship is New Zealand’s fastest racing category providing winter training in a
southern hemisphere summer.
The championship is officially recognised by the world’s governing body the FIA as one of its six global Formula Regional Championships and as such is recommended as a critical part of the career for any young racing driver serious about making it to Formula One or other high level international motorsport championships.
✔ Toyota 86 New Zealand Championship
Toyota’s acclaimed 86 sports coupe returns for an eleventh championship season after making its debut on New Zealand’s race tracks in 2013 using the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing NZ developed version designed for racing, the TR 86.
✔ Summerset GT New Zealand Championship
There are two classes in the GT New Zealand Championship series A GT4 class featuring GT4 category cars An Open class featuring 911 GT3 Cup, Ferrari Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The 2023/24 Summerset GT New Zealand Championship consists of a five-round series over five months commencing in November 2023
✔ TA2 Trans-Tasman
TA2 Muscle Car Series is the current evolution of America’s legendary Trans-Am Series which started in the 1960s. The TA2 race car is today’s version of modern V8 powered, rear wheel drive, high horsepower, big sounding muscle cars that drivers and fans love, in tribute to the golden touring car era of the 60’s and 70’s when there was no aero, no parity arguments, no budget blowouts, just no nonsense racing.
The TA2 car is made up of a purpose-built space-frame Howe Racing Enterprises chassis and a controlled McLaren Engineering Racing Engine developing 525 horsepower, this ensures a level playing field across the board for great racing.
✔ NZ Formula Ford
The New Zealand Formula Ford Championship is one of the country’s longest-running National motorsport championships. The class is officially recognised as a national championship by the sport’s governing body, MotorSport New Zealand.
Formula Ford is a cornerstone of driver development globally, recognised as the vital stepping stone for aspiring young drivers in the infancy of their careers. The New Zealand Formula Ford Championship has been contested since 1971 with the same basic concept of the class carrying through to this day.
A relatively basic spaceframe chassis and control tyre powered by a 1600cc Ford Kent engine along with tight regulations around suspension and transmission have seen close and competitive racing remain the backbone of the Formula.
✔ Mazda Racing Series
The Nexen Tyre Mazda Racing Series, now into its 32nd year, is a motorsport championship featuring MAZDA RX7's and RX8's competing across New Zealand, the oldest Racing Series to become sanctioned by Motorsport NZ and has remained one of the most innovative and cost-effective racing categories in NZ motorsport.
★ The venue – Ruapuna Euromarque Motorsport Park ★
It is one of the few club-owned and operated tracks left in New Zealand, with racing held in one form or another since the 1960s. Owned and operated by the Canterbury Car Club, Ruapuna Motorsport Park is a designated motorsport reserve which operates all year round. Canterbury Car Club was established in 1946 and are the reason the park exists today.
The track surface is hot mix bitumen and runs for 3.33km in an anti-clockwise direction.
MyLaps timing is installed, a Control Tower and full Club and Media Suites. Electric power points are also available upon request.
Considerable landscaping work has been completed with a large number of trees providing an enjoyable family picnic setting.
Spectator facilities comprise spectacular viewing from two grandstands, terraced seating, hospitality marquee sites and after- race function rooms with bar facilities. A childrens playground is also provided as part of the Clubs commitment to attracting families to events. See more here

Food & Beverages:
- There will be food and beverages available at the venue.
- Alcohol will not be served to minors or intoxicated persons - ID required on request. You may bring a homemade picnic in a soft-chilly bag.
- Commercial food is not allowed to be brought into the venue.
- This is a fantastic event however, you may be exposed to the sun, wind or rain for an extended period, therefore we strongly encourage you to bring along sunscreen, sunglasses, a jacket, be prepared with a fillable water bottle.
