This event is all about celebrating the art of cosplay—and the community behind it! This special event, co-produced by Markster Con & DC Creators, will be a haven for cosplayers, offering the perfect opportunity to capture stunning, professional photos while connecting with like-minded fans in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.
Whether you've spent months crafting your cosplay or you're just looking for that perfect shot to showcase your hard work, Richmond's COSPLAY PHOTO mini-CON (aka Hair Of The Dragon) provides you with the opportunity to work alongside talented photographers in a safe space. No more rushed selfies or random photos in crowded convention halls—here, you’ll get to create high-quality images that truly reflect the vision behind your costume.
But this event isn’t just about the photos—it’s also about people. Founded in Atlanta, GA in 2012 by Markster Con Productions, Hair of the Dragon (aka Cosplay Photo mini-Con) has become a gathering place where cosplayers can mingle, network, and form lasting friendships while creating top-notch images with a diverse array of Photographers.
This unique event offers a variety of opportunities to connect with fellow cosplayers in a relaxed, no-pressure environment while getting those top-notch photos of your cosplay that you've been seeking. Many friendships have blossomed from this event in Atlanta, making it just as much about community as it is about creating stunning photos – so organizers are excited to now bring it to Virginia's capital. The connections made is one of the special aspects that sets COSPLAY PHOTO mini-CON: Hair of the Dragon apart and makes it an event cosplayers look forward to attending.
No panels, no celebrities, no vendors — just a great time to focus on what really matters: your cosplay, your fellow fans and collaborating with an amazing array of photographers!
Richmond's COSPLAY PHOTO mini-CON will also offer a full bar & food menu for attendees to enjoy while they socialize with fellow cosplayers and create magic with Photographers!

All levels of cosplayers (21+) are invited to come experience Richmond’s most unique “con” as this event was created FOR cosplayers BY cosplayers!

HOW IT WORKS:
1) Cosplayers wanting to attend can purchase an "Admission" ticket, which will get them entry to Cosplay Photo min-Con.
2) Numerous photographers will be set-up at the venue, each with their own style and backdrop, ready to shoot! Cosplayers can then pick which Photographers they want to work with via a "mini-Photo Shoot". Price per mini-Photo Shoot is $5.00, payable directly to Photographer (via cash, Paypal, Venmo or Cashapp - depends on each Photographer).
3) Access to the resulting edited digital photos will be posted to AfterDarkRVA.com (as photographers finish their edits).
NOTE: Some photographers may submit their final images the next day while some may take a few weeks to finish their edits.
