SIR is a party and a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community, allies and friends to love themselves and dance the night away to the sounds of many flavours of techno ➕ this time adding varieties of house music in a second room!

SIR: DP is coming back to K’ Road’s underground on Friday, 8th of March, with a huge international and local line-up across Whammy’s TWO rooms.

Ben Manson (Less Drama More Techno / Paris, FRA)

We’re fizzing with excitement to bring Ben Manson all the way from Paris for the first time to the Aotearoa shores to headline our main room!

Leading the Queer nightlife for more than 20 years, Ben Manson is a french DJ and producer who was a resident at the legendary Queen Club, Scream in Paris, and played in some key places through Europe and the rest of the world such as Fuse Brussels, Pratersauna Vienna, Magdalena Berlin, Bordeline Basel or Blitz Munich and some of the most popular events like Mess, Vertigo or Bizarre Queer Festival in Paris and the infamous Extra Dirty in Sydney.

He also launched his own monthly parties LESS DRAMA MORE TECHNO in 2015 where he could illustrate his own definition of music.
He's still processing to create vibrating moments where deep hypnotic sounds that rub shoulders to post industrial influences, defined by a poetic and smooth aesthetic: a sophisticated mix of deep & raw drums, groovy basslines and haunting melodies could define his own soundscape. A personal vision shared with an eclectic selection of international and local artists that stands out the current programmation of the parisian scene. Linked with this project. Ben Manson is also heading his own label LDMT records that reflects his own vision of music and promotes the local queer scene.

Wattsson (NZ/🌐)

We’re pumped to have Wattsson join us for the first time as we experiment with expanding the SIR night beyond techno into a second room!

Wattsson's purpose for music has been forged from the start, as a classical violinist and singer in her youth, it's no surprise that her journey has led her to make a career as a DJ and producer. 
But it's not just the music in itself that she lives for. Wattsson's mission is simple yet profound: to make people feel good, uplifting souls through sonic therapy. It’s curating an environment where people can release, have fun, feel safe and connect with each other. It's to ultimately play a part in making the world a better place.

Wattsson's musical evolution traverses continents and genres. Her sound is unique and hard to put into a genre-box. Her sound is best described as deep melodic techno slash chugging synthy house.Wattsson’s sets take her fans on a journey with an abundance of bass, ensuring the music isn't just heard, it's felt.

Having recently travelled to Ibiza (where she produced her first release, Nick of Time), Mexico, the USA and London to expand her musical pilgrimage, Wattsson is now back in her beloved New Zealand to take her rightful place on line ups across the summer festival season - Somewhere she will always come back to as the birthplace of her DJ spark.

After blowing your socks off at SIR: Powerplay we’re welcoming VYXN back behind the decks off the back of her busy summer festival schedule!

VYXN will have your heart racing and your feet stomping as she mesmerises you on the dancefloor with some of the best music around. VYXN is an Auckland based DJ who specialises in techno. She is well known for putting her heart and soul into music, her
vibrant energy behind the decks and her connection with the dancefloor. VYXN's unique style has her delivering some of the most engaging DJ sets, whether in dark warehouses, deep
dungeons, intimate venues, forests or festivals.

VYXN’s mix of techno, trance, & progressive house has landed her gigs throughout NZ. Festivals such as AUM, Spectrum, Lost in Paradise, & Lakeside Odyssey keep this DJ busy & when she’s not performing at festivals you will find her playing at clubs, doofs, &
raves. VYXN has given DJing a full-time commitment with no intention of slowing down. VYXN's next endeavours include international performances & music production.

Pingu's Dead

Introducing Pingu’s Dead for the first time to the SIR booth!

Pingu’s Dead is a multi-genre DJ based out of Tamaki Makaurau.
A lover of music with substance, Pingu enjoys digging deep and selecting the freshest of sounds to share with friends and fellow dance enthusiasts. From dub, to disco, to dungeon music (techno) and everywhere in between, no sonic stone is left unturned.

Pingu’s Dead is an integral member of the Herd Collective, a dedicated community of selectors, music lovers and conscious party people. Over the past few years Herd has been hosting DJ livestreams on twitch, organised a Whatipu Cave rave and thrown a few infamous shindigs around town (at one point a bouncy castle was involved...). Said shindigs function as carefully curated musical journeys, as a playground for the weird, wonderful and expressive, and most importantly, as a platform for up and coming local talent.

Madame Sass

We’re so excited to have Madame Sass join our Backroom line-up!

Madame Sass has spent the last couple of years dancing around the globe, soaking up inspiration from the dingiest of clubs and the most genius of musicians.

Her religion is House but after craving a deeper and more emotive sound, she found Melodic Techno and Deep House - emerging as a genre-fluid, multilingual speaker of musical discourse. Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Checkup, Rene Amesz and Folamour, Sass has taken on a fiery sexual freedom and fearless self-expression that has weaponised her performance.

Settle in for a ride through the musical atmosphere, with the enigmatic allure of jazz house and an iconic Chicago Detroit sound.

Ryan Borne

We couldn’t think of a better DJ than Ryan Borne to round off our Backroom line-up for this one!

New Zealand's Ryan Borne, an electronic music enthusiast, awakened in youth from listening to Ministry of Sound CDs with his dad. A versatile DJ blending house, tech, and techno, he electrifies crowds at Blackout, Misbehaviour, COCOLICHE, Undie Party, Urge Events, and G.A.Y on K Road, drawing inspiration from artists like Don’t Blink and Dom Dolla.
He likes to explore different genres and shape his own distinctive sound. Ryan Borne is a DJ who keeps the crowd pumped and moving with his musical enchantment

Our biggest SIR is coming and it only seems right to bring back our first theme! But this time let’s Double the Pink!

In case it isn’t obvious, we love all things PINK! Come in a fuschia latex gimp mask, slink your way in wearing a pink catsuit or maybe you wanna mix things up? (I hear we’re overdue for a Barbarella Barbie remix). Whatever you choose we want you to make us blush hot hot PINK! If you think you have enough Pink, throw on a little more!

This time round we’ll be giving away a few prizes for best dressed!

We can’t wait for you to tickle us pink with your looks!

• Dressing in theme is highly encouraged but not essential - wearing black is preferred if not dressing in-theme.
  
• Coat check will be available at the venue: 1 item per person (bag or to hang on coat rack), All proceeds going to charity.
