Tempo Schmempo: The Riwaka Residency (18.12.21)

Tempo Schmempo is here to set The Riwaka Hotel alight with a series of high production, genre-melding parties over the Christmas and New Year period, brought to you in partnership with with our friends at Good George Brewery.

Tempo Schmempo is an international collective of DJ's and producers who combine years of experience performing around the world with some very eclectic music tastes. We began life as an inclusive and slightly anarchic club night in East London, where we enjoyed stripping away the elitist stereotypes often found in the underground electronic music scene.

Now, after 5 years of riotous parties in the UK and Europe, we are returning to our roots at the top of the south to set up shop for the summer. With diversity at our core, the ethos remains to celebrate our differences through the music we love. We’re here to bring DJ’s, bands and artists from all walks of life together so they can express their tastes and talents to a dance floor that is as much a part of the show as the selectors themselves.

You can expect everything from dusty disco gems to jackin' house music, psychedelic funk to classic hip hop, indie stompers to bass quaking jungle music - It's a summer full of bangers for everyone, no matter what you’re into.

You’ll be hearing a lot from our residents, EVERYBODY (Dan Rainey), TwoToTango (Todd Bray) and Crispy Business (Chris Butler) who will be supporting a host of live acts, DJ’s and and artists lined up from the Nelson/Tasman region (check the line up below). We even have a few surprise guests who will be travelling through and revealed closer to the time.

For these shows we will be transforming the Riwaka’s outdoor courtyard into a glittering party paradise - complete with immersive production and lighting, shimmering disco balls and a custom sound system courtesy of Four Four Productions.  Each party will be themed, and dressing up is encouraged, so start sussing your outfits - this is your chance to shine!
