You know how there’s always that one person who’s been on your bucket list to play a show in Tāmaki for what seems like forever?

Well for us, DJ Swisha is one of those names, and the touring gods have at last in 2024 looked down on us here in Aotearoa and said you know what party people, we are going to DELIVER.

Part of New York’s thriving underground, club vanguard Swisha has established himself as an essential producer and DJ covering footwork, house, jungle and more, and is widely considered to be making some of the most exciting and vital dance music around today.

Born in Philadelphia, raised in LA, and currently based in Brooklyn, Swisha’s unique and internet-crate-digging sound has seen him hailed by the Washington Post as a leader in “a new generation of black artists reclaiming the roots of techno music”.

He is part of LA's Juke Bounce Werk crew, signed to Fool’s Gold Records, and his regular Bandcamp self-releases range from battle-ready footwork and hypnotic techno to memeable Jersey club edits of Crazy Frog — all hybrid originals that never compromise on a beat that hits.

Swisha made big waves with his breakthrough 2019 Boiler Room set, but has long been a constant presence in underground speakers, whether tearing up warehouses with the 160bpm loving JBW crew or dropping heaters at NYC clubs like Bossa and Nowadays alongside his Lot Radio and B2B DJ partners AceMo, MomaReady, and Kush Jones.

We are seriously pumped to have Swisha in the NOTW basement on the Ghost Soundsystem, and with a stacked roster of local talent including Surly, Aotearoa’s own member of the Juke Bounce Werk crew, Ajhoneysuckle, and Bbbyfacekilla.
