Tha na h-òrain uile a' comharrachadh Bliadhna Cladaichean is Uisgeachan na h-Alba agus chaidh an sgrìobhadh le James Hind, Màiri Anna NicUalraig, Niall O’Gallagher agus Raonaid Walker. Thig an oidhche, agus Blas 2020, gu ceann le còmhlan ainmeil Innse Gall, Beinn Lee.

Performances of new Gaelic songs inspired by Scotland’s Coasts and Waters composed by James Hind, Mary Ann Kennedy, Niall O’Gallagher and Rachel Walker will form the first half of our finale event. Blas 2020’s St Andrew’s Night concert will be brought to a close by the Outer Hebridean band, Beinn Lee.

20 Samhain / November

An Tuireann + Iain MacFarlane and Friends| 20:00 GMT

Bheir a' chiad tachartas den Fhèis òigridh às na Fèisean air feadh na dùthcha còmhla airson taisbeanadh a chaidh a chur ri chèile le Mike Vass. A' leantainn sin, bidh an ceòladair iomraiteach Iain MacPhàrlain a' cluich dhuinn cuide ri Ingrid NicEanraig, Megan NicEanraig agus Eòghainn Robasdan.

Our opening event begins with young people from Fèisean across Scotland in a unique performance created by Mike Vass. Celebrated Highland musician, Iain MacFarlane, will follow that with a performance featuring Ingrid Henderson, Megan Henderson and Ewan Robertson.

Blas has traditionally presented events in Inverness Cathedral and we are delighted to maintain that link with a free concert featuring Kathleen MacInnes.

Cladaichean is Uisgeachan | Coasts and Waters | 20:00 GMT

Anns a' chiad earrainn, nì Jo NicDhòmhnaill taghadh agus mìneachadh air cuid de na h-òrain san tasglann Fuaran aig Fèisean nan Gàidheal. San dàrna pàirt, bidh Seumas Greumach agus Kirsteen NicDhòmhnaill beò cuide ri Jo le òrain co-cheangailte ri cladaichean is uisgeachan na h-Alba.

In the first section of this event, Jo MacDonald introduces a selection of songs celebrating Scotland’s 2020 Themed Year, which are part of an archive built up during the year by Fèisean nan Gàidheal. The second part of the evening will be a live performance by James Graham and Kirsteen MacDonald of Gaelic songs associated with shores and waters, introduced by Jo.

Scots and Irish musicians bring you a concert of Gàidhlig and Irish songs as well as some great playing on the button box from both sides of Sruth na Maoile.

A short Gaelic drama performance by Magaidh Smith recalling the hard lives endured by the herring girls.

Boats, ships and galleys have long enjoyed a special place in the imagination, poetry and song of the Gael and in this special Blas 2020 lecture, as part of the Year of Coast & Waters, Gaelic singer Margaret Stewart will steer us through Gaeldom’s rich bounty of Gaelic song to explore how boats have been handled by our bàrds through the centuries, whether in praise, symbolism, elegy, eulogy, humour or satire.

Eliza | 19:30 GMT

Tha an dràma ùr seo, Eliza, ag innse mu nighean òg à Guidheàna a chaidh a thoirt às an dùthaich aice fhèin le a h-athair, aig an robh planntaichean, airson a dhol a dh’fhuireach air an Eilean Dubh ann an 1816.

The remarkable story of Eliza Junor from Guyana uprooted by her plantation-owning father and brought to the Black Isle near Inverness in the year 1816, told through a new Gaelic drama written by Angus MacLeod, produced by Fèisean nan Gàidheal with songs from Eilidh Mackenzie performed by Ellen MacDonald and Innes White.

Having had celebrations marking 10 years of the band curtailed, we are delighted to welcome Trail West in their special anniversary year in a livestream from Eden Court, Inverness.
