More on Matrix & FutureBound

When Matrix & Futurebound combined their powers to unleash the seminal ‘Universal Truth’ album in 2007, the skillful fusion of epic melodic soundscapes with heavyweight dancefloor production and original vocals defined a whole new era in Drum and Bass. Tracks such as ‘American Beauty’, ‘Coast To Coast’, and ‘Family’ were truly ahead of the curve and served as a precursor to the cross-over success that many Drum and Bass tracks have enjoyed today. This did not go noticed outside the walls of Drum and Bass as the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Justin Timberlake, Moby, Snap, Afrojack, and Skepta all came knocking at the door for remix duties.

2012 was a groundbreaking year for the legendary duo, with the euphoric sounds of ‘All I Know’ (feat. Luke Bingham) sending tremors across the Drum and Bass scene and beyond. Featuring the silky smooth ‘Rolling Out Mix’ and the dancefloor destroying ‘Smash and Grab Mix’, the production powerhouse’s joint effort smashed clubs and dominated the airwaves worldwide. Clocking in over 3 million combined views on YouTube as well as making the BBC 1Xtra “A” and Radio 1 “B” playlist, ‘All I Know’ became the duos first Top 40 hit, charting at #29 in the UK singles chart and #6 in the Dance chart.

Following on the success of ‘All I Know’, Matrix & Futurebound returned with ‘Magnetic Eyes’ (feat. Baby Blue). A smash hit in every sense of the word, ‘Magnetic Eyes’ was selected to BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra “A” playlists, with heavy daytime and evening rotations from the UK’s bigger radio personalities. Peaking at #24 in the UK’s official Top 40 charts, ‘Magnetic Eyes’ also became the 9th most-played track on Radio 1 in the first quarter of 2013 , joining the likes of Disclosure, Avicii, Rihanna, Calvin Harris and more amongst the radio elite.

The end of 2013 saw Matrix & Futurebound once again rise to new heights with the release of their biggest hit to date, ‘Control’ (feat. Max Marshall). With huge support on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Capital FM, Ministry of Sound Radio and XFM, ‘Control’ cracked the UK Top 10 and charted at #7 in the singles chart and #2 in the Dance charts January 2014 – a level of success matched only by a select few in the Drum and Bass world. Staying true to their roots, Matrix & Futurebound also dropped their own club mix of ‘Control’ with their techy ‘S.T.F.U. Mix’. A throwback to the early days of their partnership, Matrix & Futurebound proved without a doubt that they could achieve both high chart positions, while still maintaining heavy support in the clubs.

Summer 2014 saw Matrix & Futurebound return with their 3rd consecutive Top 30 hit and Radio 1 A-LIsted single, “Don’t Look Back”, - the follow up to huge Top 10 hit “Control” and “Magnetic Eyes” that went Top 30. “Don’t Look Back” reached Number 34 in the Official UK Top 40 and Number 2 on the Cool Cuts Chart featuring a special VIP edit from Matrix and Futurebound.

July 2014 also saw the duo take on the prestigious Radio 1 Live Lounge in their week of release performing live for the first time covering Katy B & Rihanna singles with huge accolade. Major remix duty followed with Matrix & Futurebound remixing UK Number 1 single, Oliver Heldens x Becky Hill ‘Gecko’ (Overdrive) FFRR, Eric Prydz ‘Liberate (Virgin EMI), Seven Lions ‘Strangers’ (island/Universal) and Labrinth ‘Let It Be’ (Sony Records) in 2014 with huge live shows at Creamfields, Global Gathering, Secret Garden Party, Nocturnal Festival, Let It Roll Festival, Brixton Academy, Hollywood Palladium and many many more.
